2nd Annual South Florida Radical Activist Conference

January 5-7, 2007

Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Florida (location tentative)

Calling all anarchist, anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, independent media, radical environmental, feminist, animal liberation, anti-racist, youth liberation, political prisoner support, indigenous, worker, and queer activists, individuals, and collectives, especially from the Southeast -- and anyone who feels she or he can facilitate a workshop, skill-share, or presentation ranging rom 30 to 90 minutes. We want to make this a fun, diverse, and participatory event for everyone involved, in the spirit of mutual aid and respect. Particular emphasis will be placed on practical Do-It-Yourself skills and building sustainability and communal autonomy. Free vegetarian/vegan meals will be provided for all by Food Not Bombs. Contact us about setting up a distro table. If anyone can help out with childcare or housing, or if you have any concerns or creative ideas to add, please get in touch with the Improvised Action Collective at improvisedaction@riseup.net.

We are also calling out to all grindcore, crust punk, experimental, noisecore, hip hop, and anarcho-folk artists. The first night of the conference will be a Noise Not Bombs show benefiting the various Food Not Bombs collectives of Florida. Spoken word, poetry, and visual arts will be represented as well.

The 1st South Florida Radical Activist Conference was a surprising success with only three weeks of planning. For the 2nd SFRAC, we are hoping with a few months notice, individuals and collectives can plan to attend around North America. Reminder: South Florida's average Jan. temperature: 75 degrees. Average temperature for the rest of the country: too fucking cold!
